Ever wonder “What happens at Summer TASK”?
We have learning lessons, swimming, field trips, and so much more! Let's dive in a little deeper on the day-to-day!!
Lessons:
1. They start at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM daily. (depending on the activity for the day)
2. Students will spend about 30 minutes in each room, before moving to the next focus area.
3. Our program has several focus areas: Science, Rec., Art, and Game.
Drama: (Red Room) The focus here is academic with hands-on project-based learning is the focus.
a. This summer, we will work through projects from MindWorks titled “Through the Worm Hole”. These have several subject areas including science, math, history, and reading.
b. We will also learn some “life hacks “as once a week we present a social-emotional lesson. These may cover sharing, fairness, citizenship and so much more.
REC.: (Green Room.) Rec time is dedicated to outdoor group games in the morning and indoor games in the afternoons.
Art: (Blue Room)
a. Story Stretchers - Art is an exploration through a new book each week. We have “stretched” the stories into several art-related projects.
b. Readers Theater- Wednesdays, in art, are dedicated to a reader’s theater. These are short plays they practice as choral reading and will perform for their TASK peers by summer’s end.
Game: (Purple Room) “Play is the highest form of research” – Albert Einstein. The Game Room time is an unplanned time. We will have a board game of the week. Although unplanned, students learn softer skills through play. Taking turns, collaboration, sequencing, counting and so much more.

**Swimming- TASK swims three afternoons a week here at the Tea Pool. (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.)
**Field Trip - On “Field Trip Fridays”, we head to town! Generally, our trips evolve around an event such as bowling, skating, and movies. We incorporate a trip to a park and have a picnic lunch.
**Meals - Breakfast, lunch, and snack time are served.
